Centre targeted for price rise

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader M. Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday criticised the United Progressive Alliance Government at the Centre for its failure to control the price rise, which had affected the people, particularly the poor.

Addressing a public meeting at Hebbal here, he appealed to the people to vote for the former Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, who is contesting from the constituency, in the Assembly elections and bring the party to power.

He said that the economic policies of the Congress were responsible for the sufferings of the people. It had become difficult for the poor to buy essential commodities, he said.

The State unit president of the BJP D.V.Sadananda Gowda, party national general secretary H.N. Ananth Kumar, Mumtaz Ali Khan and Mr. Subramanya Naidu expressed hope that the party would come to power on its own in the State.
