Babli: A.P. to sue Maharashtra
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The State government has decided to file a contempt case against Maharashtra government in Supreme Court for its reported violation of its instructions and continuing works on Babli project.
The Supreme Court, in its interim directions, wanted that there should be no obstruction to free flow of water and gates should not be erected.
The Central Water Commission and the Union Water Resources Ministry too issued similar instructions, but the Maharashtra government failed to comply with them.
“We are left with no other option, but to file a contempt case,” Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshamaiah said at a press conference here on Saturday.
