7 killed in fire at cracker unit

PATNA: At least seven persons, including three women, were killed and eight others injured when an illegally run cracker factory caught fire in Sheikh Alam Chak locality in Jehanabad district on Saturday.
Four persons were killed on the spot when the crackers went off in their home where these were being manufactured. Three others died during treatment at the Patna Medical College Hospital.
The district administration has requested a team of experts to examine the explosives that were stored in the residential premises.
12 children hurt
In Begusarai, 12 schoolchildren were injured when their bus overturned on the National Highway 31 while on its way from Lakhon village to the Central Public School in Begusarai. The condition of six of them was said to be serious.
