DINDIGUL: The district crime branch police have registered a case of forgery in connection with issuance of bogus transfer orders to nine school teachers in the district, here on Friday. Acting on a complaint lodged by Selvakumar, District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO), the police filed the case and are in search of the accused. The DEEO, on Friday, suspended nine teachers on the charges of obtaining transfer using forgery orders. When S. Subramaniam of Periyurpatti Panchayat Union (PU) School had produced a transfer order for Kollapatti Middle School to the DEEO, he was shocked as the transfer order was signed by former director Uma Maheshwari. Moreover, the order was issued to the assistant education officer instead of the district head office. On suspicion, he lodged a complaint with the police. Preliminary investigations revealed that the orders were bogus and the teachers had shelled out a huge sum to get the transfer order. The suspended teachers are Meenakshi of panchayat union middle school in K. Pudhupatti; Subramaniam, PU school, Kollapatti; Elizabeth Mary, PU school, J. Pudupatti; Rajeswari, PU School, J. Pudukottai; Punitha, PU school, Pazhayapatti; Karthikeyamani, PU school, Nagampatti; Jayameenambigai, PU school, Minukkampatti; Selvabarathi, municipal school, Palani Adivaram; and Yamin Poornalingam, PU school, Thazhaiyuthu.
