‘CET physics paper was tough’

Staff Reporter

Answer keys to be displayed on April 26, says KEA

BANGALORE: For students seeking entry into various professional courses in Karnataka, it doesn’t get bigger than the Common Entrance Test. The CET-2008, which is being conducted for the first time by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, went off smoothly with students saying that the papers were as expected except the Physics paper which included more questions from the first Pre-University Course syllabus.

While 97 per cent was the attendance for Physics and Chemistry (combined paper), 95 per cent appeared for Mathematics and 85 per cent students took the Biology examination.

“The physics paper was a little long but the Mathematics and Chemistry paper were exactly as expected. If you have solved previous papers this should be a cake walk,” said Aditya Kumar.

Analysts and coaching centre faculty put up the answer keys by evening. Analysts said the paper was as expected and above average students would have cruised through.

The Kannada language test for Gadinadu and Horanadu Kannadiga students will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Those who are unable to make it for the examination will have another opportunity to take the test on April 30 at the KEA premises. The KEA has announced that it will display the answer key (http://kea.kar.nic.in) on April 26 and objections and responses can be addressed to the KEA on or before April 30. These will be considered by a committee, whose decision will be final for determination of the right answers, according to a press release issued by KEA.

Candidates who want to apply for Architecture have to appear for NATA test on or before April 23 and submit their score card with their CET number on or before April 26.
