This Day That Age
Details regarding the courses of study to be offered and equipment needed by the Institute of Technology proposed to be set up in Guindy, Madras, are now being worked out in collaboration with a representative of the West German Government, who have offered technical assistance to the project. Prof. R.A. Kraus, who has been associated with the Institute of Technology in Kharagpur for over six years as Professor of Mechanical Engineering, inspected the site on April 19 and held consultations with the officials concerned. The proposed Institute is one in the chain of regional institutes for higher technical education being set up by the Government of India under the Second Five-Year Plan. Dr. Kraus hoped that the Institute would start functioning by July next year.
