Motorcyclist killed

CHENGAM: A 35-year-old man riding a motorcycle was crushed to death after he came under the rear wheel of a State-owned bus on Chengam-Tirupattur Road here on Sunday. Police said that Vedamurthy (35) of Chinnakayampattu near Chengam had come to Chengam from Chennai. From Chengam he along with one of his friends Devan was going to his native village on the two-wheeler.

On the Chengam-Tirupattur Road, Vedamurthy tried to overtake a State-owned bus. At that moment, a speeding car came on the opposite side. Vedamurthy tried to apply brakes. But he fell and came under the rear tyre of the running bus. Devan escaped with minor injuries. Chengam Town Police have registered a case.
