Private company PRO, seven others held

CUDDALORE: The police have arrested the public relations officer of a private firm and seven others on the charges of assaulting the watchman Sekar and a few others of the Cuddalore Power Company (CPC) here on Saturday.
The police said the PRO along with a group of persons barged into the property of the CPC and manhandled those present there.
On the complaint of the CPC officials the police rounded up the assailants and remanded them to judicial custody. It is said there was a dispute over a piece of land between the two companies. Both the companies were rallying the support of the local people and this had created tension in places such as Chithiraipettai, Sothikadu, Nochikadu and Rasapettai.
