Kasaragod peaceful

Kasaragod: Kasaragod town and neighbouring panchayats, which witnessed violence from April 14 to 18, remained peaceful on Sunday.

No untoward incident was reported since Saturday.

The district administration withdrew the prohibitory orders issued in the town under Sec. 144 or Criminal Procedure Act on Sunday night. Shops in the town reopened on Sunday.

But prohibitory orders under Police Act still prevail in the town.

Investigation team

Meanwhile, the special investigation team which is inquiring into the murder cases in the recent violence has started investigation.

Inspector General V. Santharam on Sunday reviewed the investigation’s progress.
