KSEB staff strike

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Power Workers Unity Centre said here on Sunday that the strike by a section of the employees of the State Electricity Board had become a certainty with the failure of talks with Board chairman Rajiv Sadanandan. The chairman and Electricity Minister A. K. Balan were claiming that corporatisation of the Board could not be avoided in view of the provisions of the Central Electricity Act. However, that could be done through a State legislation amending the Act, provided the law received the assent of the President, it said. —Special Correspondent
