Dubai: Bahrain Air will operate flights to India, with the launch of its Kochi flight on May 26. The operations to Kochi will start with three flights a week and become a daily service from October this year, the airline’s Managing Director Ibrahim Al Hamer said. “We are looking forward to the support of the 280,000 Indian community, which is the single largest expatriate group in Bahrain,” he was quoted as saying in Gulf Daily News. “Our service to Kochi is a first step into the lucrative market of India, particularly the southern region,” said Al Hamer. “Bahrain Air passengers to Kochi will eventually be able to fly onward to other Indian destinations with the use of a domestic airline, with whom we are in the process of finalising the code sharing arrangements,” he said, adding that Kochi will be the eighth destination in Bahrain Air’s network. — PTI
