TDP padayatra against bauxite mining

VIZIANAGARAM: Telugu Desam party, Visakhapatnam district committee, will be organising four-day padayatra in the villages/hamlets affected by bauxite mining from April 22.

The party deputy leader in the Assembly K. Kala Venkata Rao would flag off the padayatra at G. Valasa, near Borra caves, in Anantagiri mandal, said Sobha Hymavathi, former MLA from S.Kota.

She told this correspondent over phone on Sunday that during the yatra the tribals would be enlightened on the affects of mining.

Public meeting

The yatra would end with a public meeting at Araku Valley April 25.

While Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, Bandaru Satyanarayana, Ganta Srinivas, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao and others take part in the padayatra, K. Yerran Naidu, M.V.V.S. Murty and others would participate in the public meeting.
