Badal earmarks 1,000 cr. for Amritsar

AMRITSAR: Ahead of the May 22 Assembly by-election in Amritsar South constituency, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday announced that development schemes totalling a amount of Rs.1,000 crore for the city.

At a press conference here, Mr. Badal said that Rs.144 crore has been earmarked for the Government Medical College Amritsar, which was badly lacking basic infrastructure for the last many years.

The Chief Minister said Rs.210 crore would be spent on the elevated road which is under construction. — PTI
