Moraina (M.P.): Passengers on board the Shatabdi Express between Jhansi and New Delhi were in for a pleasant surprise on Friday as they had none other than Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi as one of their co-passengers. The Amethi MP and son of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi exchanged pleasantries with all those travelling in his compartment, an IPS officer who travelled in the same coach told PTI. Children were so overwhelmed with Mr. Gandhi’s presence that some of them even jumped into his lap, he said. “Rahul too happily interacted with them. Several family members travelling in the coach even took photographs with him with the help of their mobiles. Rahul’s company reminded them of Chacha Nehru, whose love for children is known worldwide,” he said. Mr. Gandhi, after finishing his Bundelkhand tour on April 18, boarded the Shatabdi Express at Jhansi. Though the police had taken over the coach for security reasons, the atmosphere was free inside it. — PTI
