Leader demands strengthening of PDS Reiterates party’s stand on nuclear deal Sangareddy: Communist party of India (Marxist) state secretariat member S. Veeraiah addressing the general body meeting of Medak district unit here on Sunday said that formation of a third front in the country would only be possible through building strong mass movements. He called upon the party workers to bid adieu to the neo liberal policies of Congress and the neo fascist BJP by encouraging alternative peoples’ movements. He opined that the third front, made only for the sake of contesting elections, won’t last long. He reiterated the stand taken by the party against the nuclear deal with the USA. He demanded strengthening of the public distribution system and implementation of employment guarantee programme. CPI(M) Medak district secretary Chukka Ramulu announced that the party would intensify ongoing movements for the common man. He said that people living in the municipal areas and the problem of contract labourers in the industrial areas have become the focal points of struggle for the party. He demanded speedy completion of Pranahita Chevella and Pattas for the Dalits and tribals living in forest areas of the district. He demanded employment to local youth in the BHEL of Ramachandrapuram. District secretariat members K. Rajaiah, B. Mallesh, J. Mallikharjun also spoke.
