Woman charred to death
NEW DELHI: A 60-year-old woman was charred to death and three sustained minor burns in a fire caused due to leakage of cooking gas from a cylinder at Gandhi Nagar here over the weekend. The incident took place around 1-30 p.m. on Sunday when nearly two-dozen people had gathered at the house of Anil Zana (46) in Multan Mohalla to attend a religious feast.
When Zana lighted a match to prepare food in the kitchen, a fire ball engulfed him. His employee Sudhir (18) and neighbour Jayant Chakraborthy (25) were also injured. A guest Raasmani Dass too got trapped and sustained 100 per cent burns. She was declared brought dead at LNJP Hospital. The three have been admitted to different hospitals and diagnosed with 15 to 25 per cent burns.
