Car festival held

A large number of devotees witnessed the car festival at Sri Uthamarkovil, near here on the occasion of Chithrai Car festival on Sunday. The procession idols of Sri Purushothamar and Sri Devi and Sri Bhoodevi were taken by the temple car. The ‘vadam pidithal’ ritual commenced at 10.10 a.m. and the car was brought to rest about half an hour later. Special arrangements were made for the conduct of the car-festival, forming the tenth-day rituals of the Chithirai Car festival.
