Alert gangman averts train accident

TIRUNELVELI: The Tenkasi–Madurai passenger train had a miraculous escape on Sunday after a gangman noticed a crack on the track and alerted the engine driver. Railway police sources said the driver stopped the train after seeing the gangman running towards the train with a red flag. The train was nearing the Thiruvenkatapuram railway gate. The railway officials at Sanakrankovil and Rajapalayam were informed of the problem. After the repair work, the train left for its destination, the sources said.
