Donovan and Beckham help Galaxy to tie

CARSON (USA): David Beckham did what he does best.

“I’ve always said my game is about getting assists. It was great for Landon (Donovan) to get two goals,” Beckham said on Saturday night after setting up LA Galaxy’s two goals in a 2-2 draw with the Houston Dynamo.

Donovan did a fine job of finishing on a pair of perfect passes from Beckham.

Donovan made a sliding shot in the 84th minute to even it. His earlier goal, on a diving header in the 67th minute, had tied it 1-1.

“When David Beckham is given time and Landon is running off the ball, that’s a dangerous combination,” Houston coach Dominic Kinnear said. — AP
