Sunstroke claims three lives in Orissa

BHUBANESWAR: Three persons have died due to sunstroke in Orissa while the intense heat wave condition in the State would continue for another four or five days, an official said.

“Though the government has received reports of 20 alleged heat-related deaths from different places during the last four weeks, only three of these were confirmed to have been caused by heat,” Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) N.K. Sundaray said.

One death each due to sunstroke was confirmed in Angul, Dhenkanal and Jajpur districts, he said. — PTI
