Making an impact with his songs

Naveen J. Anthraper

Professional western singer and lead guitarist Naveen J. Anthraper says, “I don’t have a manager”.

The local lad who shot to fame with his rock shows, Naveen is in search of support these days to make the video for ‘Lonely I’m crying’, the first song in his forthcoming rock album. Fans of this youngster can hear the song in www.youtube.com/naveenjanthraper.

“We are currently in the process of bringing out the video that was recorded at the prestigious Yash Raj Films Studio in Mumbai. I require the help of project financers, sponsors, record labels and production companies to make this dream come true,” he says.

The song ‘Lonely I’m crying’ has lyrics by T. S. Abhilash. And the creative team include Beven Fonseca (keyboards), Darryl D’souza (bass guitar), Gino Banks (drums), Naveen (lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitars), Auxilia, Andrea, Naveen (backing vocals), Auxilia, Andrea, Sunita, Aroon, Glen, Naveen (chorus).

Says Naveen, “The album will consist of 8 English songs. It would be based on real life situations”.

He does not want the video to be popular for its models but for its mapping of human emotions. “Today, the first thought is about the model when somebody wants to produce a video. I want the lines to be popular in my video rather than the models,” he adds.

A popular face in rock concerts held in Mumbai, Naveen now lives in Bandra.

His recent performances include ‘Rock of Ages 08’ at St. Andrews auditorium in Bandra and ‘Tatva Moksh’ organised by SIES GST College, Nerul. He had also judged ‘The Battle of the Bands Competition’ held as part of the Mumbai fest at Lands End Amphitheatre in Bandra.

“I want to make it big there and I am confident,” he says pointing out that one must become a good human being to become a good singer.

“I am a Malayali who wants to express my feelings to the entire world through my English songs,” he says before signing off.
