Kapurthala: Standing wheat crops sown over an area of 400 acres of three villages Fattudhinga, Mehmadwal and Sabuwal were destroyed in a sudden fire that spread in the fields on Monday. The fire tenders from Kapurthala, Jalandhar and Kartarpur extinguished the flames after struggling for more than two hours. Kapurthala SDM G.S. Khera and Naib Tehsildar Gurpreet Singh visited the effected villages and ordered the revenue officials to asses the loss caused due to fire. The cause of fire could not be ascertained so far.
