Free mass marriage in Shimoga

29 couples enter wedlock on the premises of Kalabhairava temple



AGAINST DOWRY MENACE: Couples at the mass marriage at the Adichunchanagiri Math branch in Shimoga on Monday.

SHIMOGA: As many as 29 couples entered the wedlock at a free mass marriage held on the premises of the Kalabhairava temple of the local branch of the Adichunchanagiri Math here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prasannanath Swamiji of the local branch of the Adichunchanagiri Math, said that inexpensive mass marriages were the only solution to tackle the dowry menace. He asked the youth to come forward to oppose the pernicious practice of dowry.

Mallikarjun Murugharajendra Swamiji of the Bekkinakalmath, Gunanath Swamiji, Nagabhushana Shivacharya Swamiji, Eshwarandapuri Swamiji and Siddheshwara Swamiji, who were present, blessed the new couples.
