HYDERABAD: Minister for Information & Public Relations Anam Ramnarayan Reddy on Monday said the Right to Information Act (RTI) was making the common man a partner in development and good governance. He was addressing a gathering after giving away awards on the occasion of National Public Relations Day. The PR Messiah award was given posthumously to Farrok S. Mulla, founder-president of Public Relations Society of India (PRSI). It was received by his daughter Jeroo S. Mulla. Mr. Reddy said Andhra Pradesh was in the forefront as far as implementation of the RTI Act was concerned. He called upon PR professionals to help spread awareness among people on issues like consumer protection and environmental protection. Chief Information Commissioner, Andhra Pradesh, C.D. Arha addressed the gathering. Among others present were Editor, PR Voice, C.V. Narasimha Reddy, PRSI’s Hyderabad chapter chairman M. Pramoda Rao, and Federation of AP Chambers of Commerce & Industry president Atluri Subba Rao. The Best PR Manager award went to Y. Babji of the AP Khadi & Village Industries Board, the Golden Triangle award to Yogesh Joshi, president, Association of Business communicators of India, Mumbai and the Special Recognition award to N.L. Narasimha Rao of PRSI. The organisational award for Corporate Social Responsibility went to Kesoram Cements.
