NEW DELHI: Sale and receipt of common admission forms and information bulletin for different under-graduate courses offered by Delhi University for the 2008-09 academic year is expected to begin on June 2. The last date for sale and submission of forms will be June 16. This was decided by the Admissions Committee chaired by Pulin B. Nayak that met on Monday. The first admission list would be notified by different colleges affiliated to the University on June 26. Eligible students can take admission to their preferred institutions between June 27 and 30. Colleges will display the second admission list on July 1 and students who meet the requirements can pay their fees between July 2 and July 4.On July 5, the third list will be put up and students can seek admission to different courses between July 7 and 9. The fourth admission list, if any, will be notified by the institutions on July 10, while the students have to complete the admission process and payment of fees between July 11 and 14. However, the committee did not take any decision on how to manage the student intake this year in view of the implementation of reservation for the other backward classes in Central educational institutions. “We raised the issue and urged the committee to implement the OBC quota in all the colleges and departments. The committee said the University was still examining the matter,” said Delhi University Teachers’ Association president Aditya Narayan Misra, who attended the meeting on Monday. Prof. Nayak said: “The Admissions Committee is not discussing the matter at the moment. The University has recently received a directive from the Union Ministry for Human Resource Development on the reservation issue and the Vice-Chancellor and his team will work out the modalities on how to go ahead with it.”
