CUTTACK: There seems to be no end to students’ unrest at Ravenshaw University. Currently the students of different departments are agitated over a series of ‘faulty’ and out of syllabus question papers they are coming across almost daily in the ongoing annual examination. In one such incident on Tuesday, the irate under-graduate students of Information Technology Management (ITM) locked the university main gate for over an hour claiming that the questions for their annual examination were tough and from outside the syllabus. The agitating students allegedly ransacked the Vice-Chancellor’s office alleging that the authorities were out to harass them. Authorities, however, denied the allegations saying that an expert committee would soon review the questionable question papers and if it were found that the questions were actually from outside the syllabus then the students would be awarded grace marks. “All the questions for the ITM exams would be reviewed again by a committee comprising subject experts,” said Anup Patra, the dean of students’ welfare. Students, however, pointed out that all the assurances by the university authorities were nothing but an “eye wash”. They claim that the university authorities are out to harass the self-financing students.
