HYDERABAD: The TDP on Tuesday took strong exception to the Planning Commission ‘unabashedly’ praising the Congress Government’s administration in Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Senior leaders Ravula Chandrasekhara Reddy and S. Venugopalachari said at a press conference that it was unfortunate for an organisation like the Planning Commission that boasted of an independent identity to be ‘stooping down to such levels of praise. Mr. Reddy said the Commission appeared to have taken into consideration only the happiness among Congress cadres rather than look at how the common man was benefited from the administration in Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime. The TDP leaders said that a time when the people were plagued with issues like alarming corruption and inflation, it was imperative for the Congress Government to indulge in introspection and go about affording relief. ‘Congress unnerved’On Congress criticism of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s ‘Meekosam’, the people contact programme, Mr. Ravula ChandrasekharaReddy said it looked like the Congress was already unnerved at the public response.
