This Day That Age
The conference of independent African states met for its last session on April 22 and is expected to issue resolutions on economic and cultural issues. The conference on April 21 approved a resolution urging an end to the fighting in Algeria and calling on France to start immediate negotiations with the outlawed National Liberation Front. The conference declared its “unswerving loyalty” to the United Nations Charter and adherence to the Bandung principles of peaceful co-existence.
