Tokens for passports available online

BANGALORE: The Regional Passport Office will, from May 5, issue tokens online for people who want to submit applications in the morning. This will, however, be only on a trial basis for a week, said a release. If this project receives a good response, people will no longer have to stand in long queues in the morning to submit their passport applications.
The Regional Passport Office already issues tokens for those who want to submit their applications in the afternoon. Under this trial scheme, for instance, those who want to submit applications in the morning on May 5, can register themselves on the previous day between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on http://nitpu2.kar.nic.in/ passport/process.htm.
Initially, 120 tokens would be issued and the number of tokens will be increased depending on the response.
