Foursome loot petrol bunk
A four-member gang attacked workers in a petrol bunk on the busy Ring Road here on Monday night and escaped with Rs. 8,000 kept in a safe.
According to police sources, the suspects in their early twenties came asking for drinking water. When security guard Mokkaraj was guiding them to the water tap, three others brandished weapons and attacked cashier Karthik and worker Rafiq Raja, causing bleeding injuries.
On hearing their cries, Mokkaraj tried to run away from the scene.
However, the gangsters chased and stabbed him. They forced open the safe and took away the money.
The injured were admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital where their condition was said to be stable.
Avaniapuram police have registered a case.
