Chennai: The sting operation that forced K. Jothikumaran to resign as secretary of the IHF had its echo in the corridors of the International Hockey Federation on Tuesday. With so much at stake in India apart from the Special Project under IOC Solidarity, the FIH is concerned about the developments consequent to the expose. In an official reaction, the FIH President, Els van Breda Vriesmann, observed: “We have taken notice and we are in close contact with the Indian Olympic Association to take proper action as they see it appropriate.” It is also gathered that FIH is very disappointed with the manner in which the issue of holding the next World Cup has been handled by the Indian officials so far. The FIH is ready to issue an ultimatum that if there is no satisfactory response to the points raised in regard to playing host to the 2010 World Cup within two weeks, the event will be shifted to another country
