New Delhi: The Indian girls kept a clean slate as they outplayed Malaysia and Singapore in the first two matches of the league in the Asia-Oceania World Junior tennis tournament at Shenzen, China. Natasha Palha and Ratnika Batra dropped only eight games between them in winning the four singles matches against Malaysia and Singapore in group ‘B’. The team will challenge China in the last league match on Wednesday. The top two teams from each of the four groups will qualifying into the knock-out phase. The Indian boys had finished joint third along with Australia last week at the same venue and qualified for the World Group final to be held in Czech Republic in August. The results: India bt Singapore 3-0 (Natasha Palha bt Julienne Keong 6-2, 6-0; Ratnika Batra bt Nicole Rosenberger 6-2, 6-0; Ratnika and Prarthana Thombre bt Nicole and Julienne 6-3, 6-2). India bt Malaysia 3-0 (Natasha Palha bt Theiviya Selvarajoo 6-2, 6-0; Ratnika Batra bt Adelle Boey 6-2, 6-0; Ratnika and Prarthana bt Adelle and Theiviya 7-5, 6-2).
