KPCC seeks secretaries’ explanation

Staff Reporter

MALAPPURAM: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has sought explanation from six party secretaries of Malappuram district after they revolted against District Congress Committee (DCC) president U. Aboobacker.

DCC secretaries Paramban Rasheed, C.M. Basheer, P. Baburaj, A.K. Abdul Rahman, C. Raman and T.P. Vijayakumar had accused the DCC president of siphoning off the party funds collected through the Janamutta Yatra.

They had charged him with investing a major chunk of the funds collected through the rally in the share market. Mr. Aboobacker, however, had refuted the allegations.

Viewing the act of the DCC secretaries as a move against party discipline, the KPCC asked them to give an explanation.
