Centre ignoring Bhopal gas victims: CPI

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Communist Party of India MP D. Raja on Tuesday accused the Union government of blatantly ignoring the victims of the Bhopal gas tragedy and the Dow Chemicals of trying to seek immunity by promising investments in India. He also accused the U.S. firm of flooding the Indian market with pesticides that are banned in that country.

Immunity

“The Dow Chemicals is trying to influence senior government officials, seeking immunity for investments. Even after so many years, the government has failed to take basic minimum steps to penalise Dow Chemicals officials responsible for deaths and miseries of so many innocent citizens,” he said during zero hour in the Rajya Sabha.
