Samastipur: Dog is the best friend of man. The adage came true when a much-abhorred street dog gave a fresh lease of life to a new born baby discarded by her mother and buried under the earth. The dog, sniffing life, dug up the soil and gave the baby a breath of fresh air following which she started crying.
