Nod for four-laning of road

MALLUNAIDUPALEM (Visakhapatnam dist.): Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday promised to sanction works pertaining to widening the existing Anakapalle-Anandapuram road into a four-lane road at an estimated cost of Rs.280 crores and to lay a road from Anakapalle to Askapalli, which would cost Rs.26 crores. Dr. Reddy announced this at the Praja Patham programme held at this village in Sabbavaram mandal in response to an appeal made by Parawada MLA Gandi Babji.

The Bhoodevi reservoir would be taken up during the second phase of the Polavaram project after two years. He also agreed to set up a degree college in Sabbavaram.

The needs of village sought by sarpanch Chitikareddy Demudu like the Rs.2-crore Pinagadi-Kotapadu road, Rs.20 lakhs for laying drains, etc., were also sanctioned. Dr. Reddy also distributed assets to 199 SHGs.
