Jamia panel to decide on OBC quota

NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia has appointed a committee to examine implementation of the recent Supreme Court order on quota for the Other Backward Classes.

Prof. Mohammed Miyan, Director of Jamia’s Centre for Distance and Open Learning, will be the convenor of the committee. The other members are Prof. Sharfuddin of the Department of Mathematics; Prof. Sudeep Banerjee of the Centre for Jawaharlal Nehru Studies; Prof. Zubair Meenai, Dean of Students’ Welfare; Prof. S. Inayat Ali Zaidi, Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Languages; and Registrar S. M. Afzal.
