New V-C for ANU soon

GUNTUR: The process of appointing a new Vice-Chancellor succeeding the present incumbent V. Balamohandas will be completed in May, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education Chairman K.C. Reddy has said.

The search committee constituted by the State Government had been working on the issue and the Government would finalise the successor by the end of May, he told reporters in an informal chat on the sidelines of an endowment lecture held in memory of former Vice Chancellor V. Vijayanarayana Reddy on Wednesday.

The appointment of Vice Chancellors of other universities would be completed by the end of June. The Government would take into consideration all factors while finalizing the appointment, he said. The higher education institutions should strike a balance between ensuring quality in education and providing employability to students, he said.
