PF service centre at Nagercoil begins accepting claims, returns

TIRUNELVELI: The Service Centre of Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) at Nagercoil has started accepting claims and returns from employers’/employees’ of PF covered establishments falling within the jurisdiction of Kanyakumari revenue district.

According to the Regional PF Commissioner (In-Charge), K. Prasant, the Service Centre, functioning at 151/2, Avvai Shanmugam Salai, Meenakshipuram will receive returns and claims from the employers and employees and hence there is no need for sending them to EPFO’s Tirunelveli Office.

Since the service centre has been equipped with broadband connectivity, status of the claims can be known instantly. The website www.epfochennai.tn.nic.in and www.epfindia.com provide online information of claims status to the EPF members from the Service Centre.

In another statement, Mr. Prasant said all employers of Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari districts covered under the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1952 should submit annual returns in Form 3A and 6A for the year 2007 – 2008 to the Regional PF Commissioner, Tirunelveli on or before April 30.

All employers of these three districts should submit the return in floppy disc along with the hard copy before the last date to avoid prosecution proceedings. Returns can be submitted through electronic form also and the structure of the same may be downloaded from the websites.
