TDP leaders’ remarks on plan panel draw flak

HYDERABAD: Finance Minister K. Rosaiah has demanded the TDP to tender unconditional apology to the Planning Commission for casting aspersions on the independent body.

Mr. Rosaiah took strong exception to the alleged remarks made by the TDP leaders that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy might have ‘bribed’ the Planning Commission members to praise the AP government.

“It is unbecoming of the TDP leaders to cast aspersions on Central government organisations, if they praised the performance of the State government,” Mr. Rosaiah said at a press conference here. Mr. Rosaiah also took a dig at the TDP leaders seeking to know whether the compliments from several dignitaries, including former US President Bill Clinton, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and others were also in return for ‘bribes’ paid by the TDP.
