THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 25th Kerala youth basketball championship will be held at the Marygiri HSS, Sreekantapuram (Kannur district) from Friday. Teams from all the 14 districts are expected to take part in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions. According to the grouping and fixtures of the tournament released on Wednesday, the top three teams from Pool A and B (super league groups) will qualify for the knockout stage of the boys’ section while only the toppers of Pool C and D will make the same grade. However, in the girls’ section, both the topper and runners-up of all the four groups will make it to the quarterfinals, slated to held on April 28. The semifinals are to be held on April 29 and the finals on April 30. The groupings: Boys: Pool A: Pathanamthitta, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam. Pool B: Idukki, Kannur, Kottayam, Wayanad. Pool C: Alappuzha, Malappuram, Kollam. Pool D: Kozhikode, Kasaragod, Palakkad. Girls: Pool A: Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam. Pool B: Kottayam, Malappuram, Pathanamthitta. Pool C: Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kasaragod, Idukki. Pool D: Kannur, Wayanad, Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad. — Special Correspondent
