Kamal Nath meets UAE leaders

Atul Aneja

DUBAI: The visiting Minister of Commerce and Industry, Kamal Nath, has begun intensive discussions with top political and business leaders to pave the way for a robust economic relationship between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During Mr. Kamal Nath’s call on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday, the UAE leader said that his country had embarked on a ‘Look East’ policy. He pointed out that both countries should work together to forge a “new partnership” by focusing on investments.

Earlier in the day, the Minister held discussions with Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Higher Education, and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman, Dubai Ports World Group. He also addressed a gathering of the Indian Business and Professional Council, Dubai.

During his two-day visit, Mr. Kamal Nath will address a gathering of business leaders.
