“The three trillion dollar war”

Penguin Group UK is distributing “The Three Trillion Dollar War – The True Cost of the Iraq Conflict” in India, a stunning new look at the financial, economic and social consequences of the war in question.

Written by Economics Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz and Linda J. Bilmes, the book is a devastating reckoning of the true cost of the war that the Bush administration estimated at 50 billion dollars.

Stiglitz and Bilmes expose the gigantic expenses which have so far not been officially accounted for, including those on conventional items like replacing military equipment as well as the staggering cost of maintaining wounded veterans for the rest of their life.
