Going hi-tech: Former Chief Election Commissioner T.N. Seshan inaugurating the website in Puducherry on Thursday. PUDUCHERRY: The Kanchi Mamunivar Centre for Post-Graduate Studies on Thursday launched its website on the occasion of its 19th Centre Day. Former Chief Election Commissioner T. N Seshan inaugurated the website in the presence of Registrar of Pondicherry University S. Loganathan. Addressing the staff and students of the college, Mr. Seshan said the centre had immense scope to become an institution of international repute if it had the right approach. “You should have the right approach in choosing the curriculum and in selecting the faculty. Stress should be on quality at every level.” Mr. Seshan stressed the need to frame curriculum that would help develop students’ overall capabilities. He also appealed to college authorities to give equal importance to develop proficiency in English language. “Without having a good command over the English language, it would be difficult for them to compete in the global scenario,” he said. Mr. Loganathan said he had just signed the order to accord autonomous status to the institute two days back. He complimented the college authorities for introducing innovative courses. Director of the College Babu Markose Abraham said as many as 16 students of the college were placed with private firms through campus recruitment.
