Police nab gangsters after a chase Crime notes

Bangalore: A three-member gang mugged a man and took away his cash, mobile phone and motorcycle near Kodigehalli Gate on Wednesday. The police later chased and caught the gang and recovered the stolen articles.

According to police, Umakantha Reddy was returning home from K.R. Puram on his motorcycle when he was waylaid by the three men who came by an autorickshaw. The miscreants assaulted Reddy and snatched his mobile phone and Rs. 12,000. While two of the men went in the autorickshaw, the third took away Mr. Reddy’s motorcycle. Immediately, Mr. Reddy called the police who chased and caught the man who was riding the motorcycle. Based on his information, police arrested the other two. The police gave the names of the accused as Ramachandra (31), Karthick (21) and Raja (21), who are all from Sanjeevini Nagar.

Murder

David Raj, 33, a realtor was murdered on the Torenagasandra-Govindapura Road near Hesaragatta on Tuesday.

The police said David, a resident of Hesaraghatta, was returning from Govindapura after meeting a friend when he was ambushed by some men with lethal weapons. Superintendent of Police, Bangalore Rural, Vikash Kumar Vikash said the police suspect the murder as a fallout of a land deal. The Nelamangala police are searching for the culprits.

Suicide

A 35-year-old homemaker hanged herself in a shed in a construction site in Hebbal police station limits on Tuesday. The police said that Jayalakshmi was upset after her husband Narayanaswamy, a construction worker, scolded her in front of other labourers while they were watching a movie at the construction site.

The body was discovered by the couple’s children who returned home after the movie.

Killed in accident

A 22-year-old hotel manager died after his motorcycle was hit by a car on R.V. Road on Wednesday. The police said Anil (22), a native of Rajasthan and resident of Yelachenahalli and working as manager in Hotel Mayura, was riding pillion along his friend Banuprakash.

They were riding along R.V. Road when suddenly the car shot from a sideline and rammed the motorcycle. Anil died on way to hospital while the injured Banuprakash has been admitted to a hospital.
