Nagercoil: The Collector, B. Jothi Nirmala, has ordered the civic bodies in the district to remove all stray dogs in their limits. According to sources, following representations from the public to put an end to the stray dog menace, which had assumed alarming proportions, the Collector urged the civic bodies to go to the field along with veterinarians and get rid off stray dogs. She said that veterinarians would identify the stray dogs in their respective areas, after which they would be removed and done to death. The menace in the district assumed an ugly turn, when a polytechnic student, Nagarajan residing at Asramam in Suchindrum died after being bitten by a dog recently. Five children attackedFive children, below the age of five, while they were playing in different parts of the district, were attacked by stray dogs.
