Dalit leaders submit charter

Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress Dalit leaders, under the leadership of All-India Congress Committee secretary Kodikunnil Suresh, on Thursday met Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan and submitted a 10-point charter of demands seeking a fair deal for Dalits and Adivasis in the State.

In a statement here, Mr. Suresh said the scheduled castes and tribes in the State were facing several socio-economic problems that needed the urgent attention of the State Government. He said the LDF government had failed to solve these issues.
