Kota: A former head constable of Rajasthan police has been sentenced to three-years rigorous imprisonment for taking bribes from vehicles plying on Kota-Etawah road. Judge Dinesh Kumar Somani of a special court sentenced Abdul Jabbar, resident of Vigyannagar extension here, for three-years and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on him. In default, he has to undergo further imprisonment of three months. The complaint against Jabbar had been filed by one Petia Kalal in the Anti-Corruption Bureau on July 13, 2001 alleging that the head constable was demanding Rs 300 per month from him and other jeep drivers. The bureau team caught Jabbar red handed while he was taking bribe.
