Sirsa: Dhoop Singh a revenue Patwari, who was posted at village Dhanoor about 15 years ago and, was caught red-handed by the State Vigilance Bureau while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 from a farmer of the same village, was dismissed from service by Sirsa district Collector V. Umashankar on Wednesday. According to official reports the Patwari demanded a sum of Rs 5000 from farmer Jit Singh of the same village for making some entries in the mutation register. He was caught by the State Vigilance sleuths on May 19, 1993. The Patwari filed an appeal in the High court, which dismissed his petition on January 11, 08. Taking notice of the dismissal of his appeal, the district magistrate dismissed him from service.
