Four die as lightning strikes

DAVANGERE: Four persons died and two were seriously injured when they were struck by lightning while they were working in a sugarcane field in Singrihalli in Harpanahalli taluk. Deputy Commissioner of Davangere district M.B. Dyaberi told The Hindu that the victims were harvesting sugarcane crop when lightning struck. The dead have been identified as Satyappara Satyappa (50), Indramma (30), Meenakshamma (30) and Sudhakar (30). The two injured have been identified as Masadi Nagappa and Manjappa.
